luxe room refresh on a budget

Planning out how to revive or decorate a living room, home office, and dining room can sometimes be a bit of a task. Deciding on furniture placement, a color scheme, paint colors, and decorative items to add to a room can become overwhelming. A living room is a multifunctional place in a home where people spend most of their time, so no doubt about it – you want this room to pretty impressive and nice! Now that the holidays are over and things have begun to settle down, it’s the perfect time to turn your home into a space you love. To help, I’ll share with you several ideas in which you can use to refresh a  living room, dining room, and home design office on a budget.

Consider pairing blue and gold, and a metallic, for a stylish and updated look to the classic blue and white. I’m a huge fan of mixing silver and gold together.  The result is a pairing that’s always elegant and modern. In a dining room, a buffet table, credenza, or sideboard is great for storage purposes. These enclosed storage pieces are great for stashing clutter and can be an amazing focal point. Update lighting and add a mirror. Swap out a dated ceiling fixture for a pendant light or chandelier, and hang a mirror on the wall to reflect the light and make the room feel more spacious. Adding light to a  dining and living room help the most to transform the look and feel of the space.

For an elegant look in a living room or dining room start with a pair of matching lamps placed on each end of a table and arrange a few accessories in the middle. Center a large piece of artwork or mirror above to create a focal point that helps draws attention.DIY design projects are another great way to transform furniture items in any room. Updating furniture definitely works and helps to make drastic updates without breaking a budget. Refresh a living room with an accent wall. Painting an accent wall will cost sufficiently less than the cost of painting the entire living room. Hiring painters can become costly. The fee to hire painters typically does not include the cost of paint or additional areas like ceilings and trim. A budget-friendly solution is to create a  statement wall. Rearranging furniture is no doubt the least expensive way to update a room because it’s totally free! Moving the furniture around gives your room a whole new look without spending a dime. If you’re not prepared to move all the furniture try rearranging your accessories and bookshelf displays. You’d be surprised at what a big impact it can have.

Home offices can be neglected when it comes to decorating, but it doesn’t take much to freshen an outdated workspace.  One of the joys of working from home, whether you do it occasionally or full time, is the freedom to fix up your office the way you want it. You can turn the standard office look into a chic and feminine home office. To do this simply add a plant, and fresh or faux flowers for added color and to make your office more interesting looking. Choose no more than three colors, with one being a neutral for a soft touch of color. For storage add bookcases, or a chest/dresser and top them with a pair of lamps and cute accessory items. For an additional refresh add wall decor as well as curtains that compliment your offices’ color palette.

Follow these simple and easy steps to achieve the perfect refresh for any of these rooms on a budget.
