Your eyes are the seat!

They say the eyes are the seat of the soul, so let’s learn how to brighten and tighten this area. The skin around the eyes is very thin, sensitive and more delicate than the other facial areas. You want to be sure to treat with a good cream/serum. Serums are concentrated and contain specialized ingredients designed to treat a specific skin type, area or condition. It can be applied once or twice per day (so be sure to read the instructions). You will find things like emollients, enzymes, lipids, and antioxidants in eye serums. This should be put on under your moisturizers to help lock it in.
Puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, wrinkles or dry texture are the common issues found in this area so finding the right product can be easy. If your eyes don’t present any issues, I recommend you use an eye cream that firms and reduces fine lines. I call this preventive care. I don’t like to use a lot of products on my face, so I treat my eyes a few times a week. I don’t see the need for using it every day if there aren’t any issues, however, I do see the need to prep the skin for the aging process.

Eye creams (serums) are beneficial for protecting thin delicate tissue, firming, reducing lines and decreasing puffiness. There are so many product lines on the market making it impossible to say which one to use. If you have lines you already use, stick with it and just add an eye serum/ cream made by them. If I had to suggest a product on the line I would say Dermalogcia or Mary Kay. I’m a natural kind of girl so I stick with the natural approach. If you like to take a venture with me here are a few recipes:

Puffiness
Cucumbers slices to reduce puffiness and redness. Leave on the eyes for 10 minutes.

Dark Circles
Heat up ½ cup of coconut oil (so it melts)
Open 5 capsules of vitamin E oil
Mix both ingredients together and add a tablespoon of evening primrose oil
Put mixture in a container and store in the refrigerator overnight. Store in your cabinet

Anit- Aging/ Wrinkles
Mix together a small, equal amount of rosehip oil and vitamin E oil and place in a container.

When applying products around the eye area, gently tap with your ring figure, starting from the outside working your way in. Never drag or pull the skin. Remember this area is very delicate, so be easy!!
