Spring Fling – decor that is Flirty & Floral!

Spring is on the horizon and HALLELUJAH I’m uber excited. This is my favorite season; why you may ask? I’m a “Spring Baby”! Born in April so not too hot or too cold of a season is where I LOVE to be.

This is also the time of year where color palettes lighten and become translucent versus matte and opaque.  Soft pastels are what’s trending in the Spring. Fabrics change to linens, silk, and tuile for starters in decor.

Let’s discuss it…and spring into some decor ideas. In order to keep decor exciting, fresh and new; ALWAYS update your living space allowing the seasons to dictate your decorating. The first thing I did while shopping for a tabletop was pick up an entry door find. It was a reed designed like a cross with pastel eggs on it. It caught my eye. A simple piece on the front door sets the tone of the season. It represents a welcoming warmth to your home before anyone enters.

Filling your rooms with FLOWERS, tulips and lilies are the season’s favorite. Calla lilies are MY favorite. Flowers are the prettiest and fragrant accent that you can have around from Spring to summer and the most vibrant colors that you can change weekly.  Fresh cut flowers from the farmers market are a great inexpensive Sunday Funday ritual to adapt. Fresh air, exercise, and great decoration hunting.

Easter baskets are exciting for children as well as adults. Get various sized wicker and rattan baskets and load them up! Place decorative guest towels, candles and fragrant soaps in the bathroom. You can find these items at the Flea Market.  For the living room, add magazines, throws and toss pillows. Ensure you have blankets, novels, and journals in the bedroom.  Decor changes for Spring will uplift you and create a design element of beauty made simple.

ALWAYS Spring Forward…
